A Canola Trip

The trip was made in September 2020 during the pandemic restriction. We were only allowed to travel inside our state. Canola flowers are usually blooming in the Autumn in NSW Australia. Have taken the chance and being allowed to travel in the state, we have experienced a couple of beautiful regional towns and spectacular canola fields.

The route we took was starting from Lithgow, then Bathurst, Dubbo, Parkes, Coolamon, Junee and Wagga Wagga. In Dubbo, you can’t miss Taronga Zoo and visit all of animal friends.

The famous canola trail is around Temora, Junee and Coolamon. We have just driven along the side of Coolamon and Junee. There are vast lands covered by yellow canola. Just amazing!

There is a radio telescope observatory in Parkes. It locates 20 kilometers north of the town of Parkes. You will see an enormous dish from very far. It is actually a radio antenna used to receive live television images of the Apollo 11 Moon landing. In this observatory, there are still some scientific exhibitions about inventions in Australia. One of the greatest is wireless LAN which is WiFi used in our daily life. Also contact lens was innovated in Australia. There are so many great inventions that we should be proud of as Australians.

Big Dish

There is another quite interesting place we have visited in this trip is Junee Licorice & Chocolate Factory. That is the best place for family gatherings. The kids will definitely love it. When I entered the factory, I immediately recalled the scenes in the movie “Charles and The Chocolate Factory”. It seemed that I was in the movie and imagined how happy if I could work in the Chocolate Factory.
